‘Am I alone in toiling to understand?’

As difficult as I found Chaucer, it gave me a grounding whereby I could enjoy Shakespeare.

DEAR Editor,

In the sixties, I had to study the works of Geoffrey Chaucer. As difficult as I found it, it gave me a grounding whereby I could enjoy Shakespeare. To this day, I still enjoy ‘The Bard’ together with Dickens and Austin. Am I alone then, in toiling to understand, after three readings, the rantings of your sesquipedalian correspondent, Mjeqezi ? ( Could I use ‘Amandla’ in ‘Give me strength’? )

As a lover of words, here are another couple for Mjeqezi’s lexicon. I think he’ll find that ‘Venery’ and ‘Venality’ may be useful in describing his ‘Cadres of National Democratic Revolution government’ (sic).
