DEAR Editor,-
For readers and the community at large, I want clarification on the issues stated by Councillor Sbusiso Danca when commenting on the march staged by the community of ward 25, marching to the municipal offices.
Cllr Danca had personalised the community’s dissatisfaction with his performance irrespective of confirming or not confirming that he spoke of a personal vendetta against him – unfortunately he mentioned my name as the leader of that.
The community, readers and all interested parties need to know all the real facts on all the points made by Danca.
Firstly, in the 2011 nominations, I was not part of contesting, as the list was prioritised as follows, 1 Simosakhe Nyawose, 2 Sbusiso Danca, 3 Delisile Majola, 4 Vusie Mafu 5 A woman whose name I have forgotten, but which can be verified at the offices if you were not just dragging my name down).
Then when his name came up at the office, it was now the duty of the local leadership to convince membership and then the community at large. Danca is the one who knew why there were changes to the list priorities of the local movement membership. His name was also supposed to be put forward in Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma investigation process, but since the matter was swept under the carpet, he is still a councillor.
Secondly, on the 2005 independent position, unfortunately at that time Danca was in the organisation for only a month and on the BGM, he witnessed the unity of the mature members who fought the imposition of the ‘floor-crosser’ just four months before the start of the election process.
And ‘mature members’ were calling for the localised TRC because of the area’s historical background. That was a principle decision which we don’t regret up to today and forever. It was unfortunately after defying the imposing some within who joined the DA opposition and Nadeco, which is no more. But for being independent, we were giving the ‘mature members’ an alternative.
As the residents in the community, after all the anti-democratic practices that have been happening in the area, people know each and every one’s role that they played since the area was the headquarters of the forces against the people. A lot of resources, including intelligence had be placed here by a global system. We are surprised if it was you who raised these issues because what we know is that you are best informed since you joined the organisation while you were a, in today’s accepted terms, ‘private investigator’. And you are aware that a lot of investment was placed in you by the ‘system’. You have a mission to fulfil here after the ‘system’ had equipped you with the necessary skills. Those who had operated in the struggle during difficult times better understood your ‘Palestine’ mission.
Thirdly, don’t misinform the public on why the march was postponed from December 10 to January 28 (December 10 was a day of mourning for Tata Madiba). Situations happen and some community members even reached the gathering venue on the day, but agreed with security agencies that it would be rearranged. Issues are still outstanding.
Hoping that you are aware that we had been in the struggle during uneasy days, please don’t make us share things that won’t be understood by the man in the street, as we won’t let our community be exposed to the enemy. That is why we will always be assisting them on technical aspects, and then you said we lead, please double check before you talk.
