DEAR Editor,-
The Hibiscus Coast Municipality (HCM) claims that the increasing number of complaints about the licensing section are not going unnoticed and have been discussed at the senior management level (South Coast Herald, September 12). What planet have these imbeciles been on for the past five years?
The complaints about the slowness and rude attitude of staff has been building for at least eight years that I can recall and absolutely nothing has been done about it. I personally laid a complaint with management about this very issue more than five years ago and was informed by a municipal staffer at the time that mine was one of many similar complaints.
The HCM ‘spin artist’ says that the HCM is now in the process of ensuring that each employee who works at the front desk has a name tag. Does it take a near riot to bring about this brilliant piece of strategy? What level of stupidity is required for these overpaid, incompetent layabouts to take five years to come to this blindingly obvious decision?
My licence is up for renewal shortly and I am putting the staff at the licensing department on notice that the first sign of queue-jumping by taxi drivers or rudeness by staff will unleash a storm that they and HCM management will never forget.
CHAS KING
