DEAR Editor,-
I have been involved in environmental education for 35 years and since retiring nearly two years ago, I have been presenting a voluntary education programme to schools, clubs and parks, but concentrate mostly on schools since children are our future.
I urgently need a data projector in order to be able to show more visual material because most children have never heard the sound of an elephant or seen the colours change on a chameleon, etc.
Without this knowledge which would ensure that children love nature, they can never be expected to preserve anything. It is a wish of mine that people will benefit from being conservation-conscious long after I am gone.
Please can someone help me and the children whose lives I touch by donating a data projector – a contribution that would be of the utmost help in what I do.
For references of my work, anyone can visit https://saphotographs.blogspot.com.
Since I live off a government pension and most times find myself living in my car when I work, it is highly unlikely that I would ever be able to afford a data projector. Therefore, I am appealing to the generosity of a good Samaritan somewhere out there.
Perhaps there is an individual or business out there who can help me to help the youth by reaching out to them and educating them on our most precious resources.
JOAN YOUNG
