OPINION: This kind of service is extraordinary

Benjamin and Derrick are an asset to Lazer 911 Security and went beyond the call of duty.

DEAR Editor,-

It is not often these days that one can rave about service – especially on the South Coast.

While I was home with my baby recently, my dogs were going crazy outside so I went outside to investigate and found two young men from Lazer 911 Security, namely Benjamin Forster and Derrick Mpisane, digging with a pick and spade outside my driveway. For the past three weeks, a large HCM truck has been cutting across my driveway and demolishing half of the paving, leaving behind a huge hole. Benjamin and Derrick promptly arrived the next morning to plant a concrete pole and close the huge hole – without me asking! They made sure that the truck cannot drive across my driveway again.

This just does not happen anymore. When I approached these two young men, they explained that ‘enough is enough’, almost as if it was their own driveway, sharing my frustration about the situation.

I want to highlight this behaviour because it is beyond the call of duty. Hopefully Basil Lanka, owner of Lazer 911 Security, can thank them personally for being such exemplary employees by helping the community where they can. This was a huge help for me because I am a single mother and most definitely would not have been able to secure my driveway. Thank you for the service you render, Lazer 911, it is much appreciated.
