Five WTH moments of the week

Ever scrolled past a post on social media and gone ‘what the hell!’ and sat there dumbfounded? SHONA AYLWARD shares her list of world-gone-mad moments from the past week.

Number 1 :

11 monkeys poisoned in Hibberdene

I have no words for this video posted by Tracy Rowles of Umsizi Umkomaas Vervet Rescue Centre showing one of the monkeys suffering after eating poison deliberately put down in Hibberdene this week.

Extremely disturbing, to say the least!

A R5 000 reward has been offered for any information on WHO could could done such a despicable thing.

Number 2:

Not a single woman representing women in Saudi Arabia council

WHAT a joke! Just when I got all excited!

Saudi Arabia launches girls’ council – without any girls.

According to a BBC article, it was an encouraging initiative for a country not known for giving women a platform in public life.

But when Saudi Arabia wanted to show off its inaugural girls’ council in al-Qassim province, they overlooked one thing: the women. Pictures released to mark the first Qassim Girls Council meeting showed 13 men on stage, and not a single female – BBC

The women were apparently in another room, linked via video.

Number 3:

Egotistical man slaps snake around

This video is just not impressive! But it went ‘viral’ – as they say!

Even more concerning is that he shoves the poor python into a small basket.

It’s not funny – but despicable! Shame on you, man!

A pity the snake didn’t slap him back, or even better, eat him alive.

Number 4:

Did you say, La pooch!

If only I could get my two hounds to behave like this.

Just to wash them is a drama.

Wash time is me racing around the garden with the hosepipe, yelling.

I don’t even want to know how the woman at the ‘pooch parlour’ copes with my fur balls.
