HOW often would I hear these words, “Come to me, Liddelow.” (My maiden name).
Of course, I’m in trouble again. My teacher would then proceed with her correction and disciplinary measures.
Now on the other side of the spectrum we have the comforting words of Jesus, “Come to Me.” You can be assured it won’t be like the school M’am running you aground.

In the Gospel of John 6 v 35 for example, Jesus declares, “I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never go hungry and he who believes in Me will never go thirsty, and in verse 37…and whoever “Comes to Me” I will never drive away.”
Can you see the dual purpose in the Lord’s invitation? It’s never just about Himself but for you and I, an initiation into an intimate relationship with the Creator of the universe who has everything in His hand to meet our every need.
What would you say to this invitation? “Come” and then walk on the water, of course its supernatural, that’s Who Jesus is. How about something just as marvellous, being relieved of heavy burdens or finding rest for your soul. (Mark 6 v 31).
Our wonderful Saviour’s invitation demands a response, don’t you think?
Next time you hear or read these words, “Come to Me,” take Jesus up on it, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that He truly loves being involved in your life.
