DEAR Editor:
I’d like to say thank you to various people who played a vital role in helping save my life after a house robbery and violent attack recently.
I don’t want to mention the people by name, but they know who they are.
As a family we are choosing to stay positive, despite the trauma, which has obviously had a big impact.

I need to thank the security company (Lazer 911) and the guards who attended the scene. They didn’t stand back and helped me contact the ambulance.
Thank you also to the Southport police who responded quickly.
I know there have been complaints about our country’s police but these men need to be commended.
Ambulance services also need to be praised for the swift response in getting me to hospital while I was losing blood.
Once there, the Port Shepstone Regional Hospital staff, doctors and surgeons treated me without delay, and in a manner which I am certain saved my life.
They all did a great job and despite everything, it’s time to give credit where credit is due.
Yes, we live in a negative society with many problems, and it is what it is.
But there are people in the police, in security companies and at the hospitals who really do care about the community.
Yes, people can make mistakes but look at what we are dealing with in general.
I’m extremely grateful to have survived the attack.
The response and support from the community has been overwhelming.
The South Coast really rallied to help and all I can say is ‘thank you’.
