DEAR Editor,-
It is plain for anyone to see that the Lower South Coast Region has been badly managed by incompetent people.
The ANC has brought the area to its knees, like the rest of the failed ANC-led municipalities.
How these people can collect salaries at the end of each month without feeling any shame is appalling.

One only has to look at the state of Port Shepstone central where their offices are situated and wonder how on earth they can be proud to say they manage this ugly, dirty town that lacks parking facilities, has broken pavements, filthy government buildings with litter strewn all over, like the licensing department – it’s a disgusting graveyard and crime is rampant …. and NO WATER.
Shame on you all at Ugu and RNM.
Call it a day and hand over to more qualified people.

RNM responds: New plans are underway for upgrading Port Shepstone
Almost every morning, Port Shepstone town is always clean, however during the day it is impossible to keep it clean as it is congested.
Due to this congestion, our communities should also play a role in terms of avoiding littering.
The municipality had to first pass parking and related matters by-laws before implementing its plan of parking management within Port Shepstone town, and the whole of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality.
This has since been passed, the process of gazetting them is underway and then the parking management system will be implemented.
However one needs to indicate that above that, management has developed a Port Shepstone town turnaround strategy, considering that a lot has changed in the town in terms of influx of people and infrastructural developments.
Surely the influx of people and littering has got nothing to do politics?
