LOCKDOWN BLOG: At this rate I’m probably going to roll out of lockdown – Day 5

Training at home ain't as easy as I thought it would be.

I don’t know about you – but I’m not finding this easy at all!

The never-ending household chores, living in the same space as the other half, trying to eat healthily and train alone.

I think it’s trying to find the motivation to motivate yourself to dedicate a solid and focused 40 minutes to actually – ‘just do it’.

So there I am – got the gym clothes on!

I start prepping myself as I walk down the garden path, with the overly excited pack in tow.

Me trying to ‘just do it’ from home.

“Don’t get distracted by the dog poo that should be picked up, the weeds growing in the flower beds or the washing that should come in,” I tell myself sternly.

Lets start by doing some push-ups – the pooches think this is a great deal of fun and jump, trample, scratch and lick me almost to death.

This is not going to work, so I grab a set of weights and from nowhere a little irritating mozzie attempts to bite me on my calf.

I drop the weights and try to swat it.

The mozzie’s friends arrive and they think its a lockdown party on my body.

This happens a few times – mozzies 3, me 1.

“What else can I do?” I wonder, now irritated.

Perhaps some lunges across the lawn.

Good idea – or so I think!

Mia in training too.

1,2,3, 4, 5, 6 lunges … I’m on a roll…

Then, it strike me that the garden has become too quiet for my liking.

Where is Missing In Action (Mia) – the puppy?

I promptly stop the lunges and go to investigate.

Mia has got hold of my guaranteed calorie burner – the skipping rope – and rapidly demolished its handle.

You can just imagine my face!

“No Miaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!”

Since there is now no skipping during lockdown – I am destined to roll out of it.
