Yesterday was one week since lockdown.

For many wives, girlfriends or partners I’m sure it’s been the longest week, EVER.
Like me, you perhaps have had to work from home and keep all the home fires burning, as well.
I bet your bottom dollar you probably have also rolled your eyes on uncountable occasions, and let out a couple of zillion sighs.
Sighs of frustration, irritation and exhaustion.
By yesterday, I had had enough!
I was tired of seeing my partner’s same horizontal position on the bed – day in and day out – and the ‘I won’t lift a finger’ attitude!

I had enough of washing, sweeping, cleaning, picking up dog poo and DOING EVERYTHING!
I counted to a million and one, and then proceeded to go on strike.
I woke up the following morning and turned a blind eye to ALL house chores.
I walked past the heap of dishes.
I didn’t wash, clean, or sweep.

I stepped over the mounds of dog poo on the lawn, and continued with my home workout, acting totally oblivious to the stench, or just how much dog poo had congregated on the lawn.
I practiced that old saying – ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ – which is easier said than done!
I even had a wonderful afternoon snooze!
Let’s just say the next morning – I walked into the kitchen to a rare sight – the other half was hunched over the sink – washing dishes and tidying up a dirty kitchen.
There he was also making a delicious smelling stew.
So, for all the women out there ready to pull their hair out – perhaps a little strike action will do the trick?
