The other day I read something on social media: 2019 – avoid negative people, 2020 – avoid positive people.
Now, more than ever, our thoughts should be positive. However, it’s easier said than done, especially now with lockdown.
“One small positive thought can change your whole day” – Zig Ziglar
Reality has set in that things will never be the same again. That something unseen (Covid-19) is causing so much havoc is mind boggling.
Now it’s time to reflect on our lives, on how we can perhaps appreciate the little things to have a more meaningful existence.
“Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them – Marcus Aurelius
When last did you feel the sunshine on your face, heard the birds singing or stopped and listened to the silence around you.
Have you recently stepped outside to look up at the night sky – at the stars and the moon?
Perhaps not. Because pre-lockdown we were all so busy with our daily routine rushing to work, school, meeting up with family and friends.
And in an instant everything changed overnight. We have been confined to our homes for several weeks, with two more weeks to go.
“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud” – Maya Angelou
No one knows, what the end of April will bring, whether the lockdown will be extended or not.
But one thing is for certain, everyone’s lives have been changed irrevocably.
For now, we need to toughen up and stand together – keep each other motivated that things will be better tomorrow.
“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts” – Eleanor Roosevelt
