OPINION: ‘Does anyone care?’

I invite our councillors to travel this route and see for themselves what a shame it is.

This is the sight that greets you as you go down Sugar Mill Road towards the river in Port Shepstone.

It is the sight that greets travellers coming in off the freeway to our dirty little town.

I live on this road and attempt to encourage people to visit our coast but I am so embarrassed to think what they make of our town.

This mess continues right down to Spiller’s Wharf (also trying to attract visitors) and beyond.

From week to week it remains uncleared, with no attempt made to tidy up.

I invite our councillors to travel this route and see for themselves what a shame it is.

And not to mention that the verges are so overgrown that a serious car accident is imminent. Does anybody care?
