It seems that some people are really not too bothered about the water supply issues the South Coast is experiencing.
One of these is my five-year-old son, Hlelo.
He does not care if Ugu supplies water or not.

Seems he’d prefer it if they don’t.
After a long day at work last Thursday I arrived home in the hope of having a proper shower and doing my washing.
As I took a deep breath and even deeper sigh while taking my shoes off, I saw a tiny face peeping around the side of the door.
I smiled and pretended I didn’t see a thing.
Then my uncle entered the room with a huge grin on his face, looking straight at me.
I was confused. Why was the old man so cheerful?
Then a I heard a small boy’s laughter and I knew something was up. And not in a good way.
“Hello mommy” was the last thing I heard before the mudball – that’s the best description I can think of – came rushing to greet me.
The mudball was my boy, covered in dust and dried mud from head to toe, and clearly loving being in such a state.
The first thing that came to my mind was how on earth am I going to clean him up when we haven’t had water for more than a week?
I took another deep breath as my uncle burst out laughing and left the room.
Different emotions overtook me and I had no reaction. I could not shout nor laugh.
Instead, I grabbed my phone, took a photo, and told him everyone will now know what he looks like and how naughty he has been!
He didn’t mind the photo and cheekily asked me if I had bought his (expensive) Kinderjoy chocolate, complete with toy.
The struggle is real (come on Ugu) but I still had to see the funny side.
After a five minute break to gather myself, I went outside to the Jojo tank to get some water to give him a good bath.
Clearly, he had had a hectic but fun-filled day because after supper he fell asleep on the couch almost immediately.
At the time of writing, some water was trickling through the pipes.
Hlelo may be disappointed to hear this, but I certainly am not!
