OPINION: ‘Please support the shoebox campaign’

This year, old age homes and children will again benefit from the project.

DEAR Editor:

We need to thank so many people in our community who have stood by us during the last six months of lockdown.

It’s impossible to mention each one by name as the list is endless.

When lockdown started, we as a charity started working non-stop to get food out to people who could not work and there are still people badly affected by the lockdown and who have lost their jobs.

Because of our wonderful God who always supplies and our supportive community, we were able to help hundreds of people. We thank you all, and may our dear God bless you.

We were also able to get furniture and much more out to our community during this time.

We have launched this year’s shoebox campaign as we feel that this will bring joy to so many people.

If you would like to fill a box, call 082 3377330. You will be provided with an empty box and list of contents.

The deadline for boxes to be filled is the end of October.

This year, old age homes and children will again benefit from the project.

Please remember we are also desperately in need of furniture, electrical appliances, clothing, bedding and toys to help those in need.

We will collect from you if necessary.
