DEAR Editor;
After all the negative reports regarding the Port Shepstone Licensing Department, it was with dread that I went to renew my driving license.
I am 74 years old and have a back problem which means I cannot stand for long.

I first collected my green form from the guard at the gate who suggested I speak to Stephen Goldsmith, which I duly did.
Mr Goldsmith advised me to come another day at 8am or 2pm.
I duly arrived at 2pm on another day with my completed green form, photos, and eye test document.
I met Mervin Moodley who sat with me making sure I was comfortable whilst he did all the necessary administration.
The whole process took 25 minutes from the time I left my car to the time I returned to the vehicle.
Praise and thanks for the kindness and professional care from Mr Goldsmith, Mr Moodley and the gate guards.
They all ensured everything went smoothly by going the extra mile.
I came out of licensing department with a smile, much encouraged by the support they gave.
