OPINION: ‘Thank you for not hurting me, but…’

Aside from just my laptop, phone, handbag, cash, wallet and all my cards for identification and banking requirements, you took something way more precious – my sentimental items.

DEAR Editor;

To the person or people who came into my home in Uvongo while I was asleep, I’d first like to thank you for not hurting me, while taking the cellphone from next to my bed.

On the other hand, you took some of my very few prized possessions.

Aside from just my laptop, phone, handbag, cash, wallet and all my cards for identification and banking requirements, you took something way more precious – my sentimental items.

I hope for you that you have such things in your life; family and overall history, and perhaps ponder on how such an intrusion on them would make you feel.

So, I shall dwell no further on your hardship, as once I would have.

I am trying to get my own life back in some kind of order, at a great emotional and financial expense.

As for the security company and the police, thank you for your kind assistance.
