DEAR Editor;
Visiting my hometown is always a pleasure because my mother still lives there.
Imagine how perturbed I was to see large amounts of plastic litter in the creek at Namsus Road in Port Shepstone.
Recently after heavy rains, my heart sank on seeing a video with tons of plastic bobbing in Durban harbour.
One doesn’t have to guess where the pollution derived from.
Besides the plastic in the stream there is also a 20-litre bucket half full of used oil.
My grandson and I took a walk along the stream only to discover that plastic had already landed in the water and more was embedded in the lush growth along the bank.
