OPINION: ‘Filled shoeboxes for children are still needed’

The is the end of November so if you would like to bring happiness to a child this year, please donate a filled box if you can.

Editor:
We are truly thankful to the many people who have donated towards this year’s shoebox campaign.

Tina Diener and her crafty chicks from Widenham Retirement Village donated 48 filled boxes, and Sannie Snell also got her ladies involved to pack boxes.

My ‘Angels’, thanks for your support and hard work.

Many other people have also donated and we are very grateful to you all.

We have had lots of response for boxes for the elderly, but not for children.

The deadline for the children’s boxes is the end of November so if you would like to bring happiness to a child this year, please donate a filled box if you can.

For a list of what goes into the box, call 082-3377330.

We are also grateful to those who have donated clothing and other goods. God bless you all for helping us to be God’s hands in our community.

This year is extremely hard for many people yet we still feed so many and the numbers increase weekly because of lockdown.

We are privileged to have handed out loads of food parcels, but we are still in desperate need of furniture, bedding, clothes for all ages and electrical appliances.

We are willing to collect from you.
