Lazer 911‘s response team, Riaan Nel, Robbie Williams, David Eslin and André van der Westhuizen deserve some credit for their efforts in finding a missing a pitbull which escaped from its owner’s yard recently.
Named Bulla, the dog went missing in the Banana Beach/Melville area.
The men reacted immediately and searched the area, continuing the search until the late hours of the evening.
They could find no trace of Bulla.
However, at about 3.10am, a call was received saying that the dog had been spotted on the R102 near the Banana Beach turnoff.
The officers responded and the search for Bulla continued.
At last he was spotted in Bokmakierie Road, heading towards Sunwich Port.
They ran after the dog but couldn’t catch him and eventually lost him in Southport.
Still the search continued, with no success.

Finally, with messages going out on social media, they received a notification that Bulla was resting at a property in Southport.
There, Riaan and Robbie found an exhausted Bulla hiding in the bush.
His owner was notified and told he could come and collect his dog.
However, as he did not have transport, one of the SWAT team units kindly gave Bulla a ride home.
Bulla immediately recognised his owner’s voice and was only too eager to get out of the vehicle.
So, after a long ordeal he was reunited with his family and the story had a happy ending.
Thanks are extended to all who assisted in the search for this dog.
It was an example of what can happen when people work together.
