I roll my eyes as I write this because it’s such a cliché.
Some men tend to play victim when their kids neglect them when they grow up.
I read somewhere (not sure how true it is) that some very rich guy from Africa neglected his father but the father only spoke about this when his son died.

I have met people who were neglected by their parents growing up and when they have ‘made it’ in life, the parents come up with excuses.
The reason we have shows on TV where families are looking for a loved one who went missing decades ago is because some parents just don’t want to take responsibility.
So back to the rich guy, who owned a R5-million Rolls-Royce, a fully-equipped gym and a 14-seater state-of-the-art cinema with a Versace logo on its opulent doors. (Yo! This guy should have just adopted me or at least made me his trophy wife).
It was reported after his death that he did not support his father and had neglected him. Now the question is, when did he start neglecting his dad?
Social media was buzzing about how he might have not been there for the young man when he was growing up and suddenly when he had money, the father wanted to be part of his life.
Unfortunately this is true. Some fathers don’t take responsibility and when the child is all grown up they want to claim them back.
You’ll most likely find that this man had never been part of his son’s life and now when he is given a taste of his own medicine he rushes to the media.
He did not even care to explain what led to his son behaving like that.
I think this should be a lesson to us young parents, that we must never abandon our kids because we really don’t know what the future holds.
Maybe the kid you abandon today will be a future magistrate, maybe a well-known and rich businessman who will own a R5-million Rolls-Royce (I can’t get over the fact that there is such an expensive car).
Besides that, kids are really a blessing from God and should be loved and cared for whether you (or they) have money or not.
