Pennington Community Watch is hosting its annual fundraising Christmas Fair at The Doghouse Cafe (R102, South Coast road) on December 16 from 8am to 2pm.
Join in for a fun filled family day with music, wood-smoked meaty eats, tea garden with delicious cakes, coffee and surprise prizes, craft beer, arts and crafts.
There is also a bass fishing competition with big prizes: a deep sea fishing trip for landing the tagged bass, raffles for a week’s stay at a luxury golf estate and 4×4 lessons.
Entertainment for children include a jumping castle, face painting and airbrush tattoos.
There is also a fun dog show with free entry.
The event takes place in a stunning natural outdoor setting.

Much to the delight of the Khanya Hospice staff, this is the 10th year that a mother hornbill brought a chick to meet and greet them.
She knows her branch, where she can sit and listen to the meetings in the boardroom (it has to be a woman).
She knocks at the windows if the boardroom blinds are closed until someone opens them.
She sits on the branch for about two hours.
“These are precious moments for all the staff,” said CEO Neil McDonald.
