Happy New Year. My experience on New Year’s Eve was that 2020 was given a thrashing and went out with a massive bang; 2021 came in being washed and cleansed.
Level 3 is disturbing in so many ways to so many people. The virus is real and people are suffering.
There is so much fear which turns into aggression. Life is really precarious.
We need to do three things when in public: mask, sanitise and social distance.
How difficult can that be? Let’s all make a promise do to these three things.
Scottburgh resident, Val Ducat, aged 97, died peacefully on December 27 last year.

On a brighter note, Louise and Ced Jackson have arrived in their beautiful new home in the Cape.
Best wishes to them in this exciting new adventure. Louise is going to be missed by her callanetics community.
There is a request for stainless steel dinner plates needed for decorating crisis centre Rotary Therapy Playground.
They are wanting to create a rustproof durable rainbow showing the children that there indeed is hope ahead at Osisibathemba (Sisters of Hope).
Drop off at either 44 or 48 Cherry Lane, Pennington.
Osisibathemba requires one outfit from your cupboard. It should be in good condition and previously loved.
Sisters of Hope has a wardrobe at the crisis centre where those in need can choose a new outfit.
In this way we hope to lift their spirits, allow them to feel fresh and ensure they leave without memories they’d rather forget.
Drop off in a sealed packet into the suitcase at Second Chances in Pennington.
While all sizes are definitely welcome, children’s outfits of all sizes are particularly needed at this stage.

Lorelei Venter-Welsh organised to feed the needy and homeless in Scottburgh on Christmas Day.
She and her helpers put in a huge amount of time and effort to make sure those in need received a hot Christmas lunch.
A big thanks to her and her team and those that donated to make it happen; too numerous to mention all.
