OPINION: ‘Birthday card arrives on right day but wrong year’

DEAR Editor;

I have just ‘phoned my cousin in London thanking her for the birthday card that arrived five days after being posted there.

I described it and she laughed and said, “That was last year’s card!”

I checked the date franking over the stamp, and indeed it reads 09-03-20.

It has taken exactly a year to reach me, surely a record, even for our Post Office.
