Tuning In: Planes, polo and a long, long ride

There must have been some confusion (and excitement) on Sunday as a light aircraft landed on the centre island a short distance from the Mtwalume off ramp, heading north.

We are almost halfway through the month. The year races on. Some schools are back, some are on holiday.
I would be a very confused parent of a learner at the moment.

Cyclist Neil Lamble, en route from Durban to Cape Town to raise funds for Durban High School, has made it past Whittlesea at the time of writing.
You can follow his progress on Facebook.
One amusing story he tells is of a man who met who, he says, makes his cycle seem quite ordinary.
He had cycled unsupported in a group of five from Cape Town to Kenya over eight months, averaging 120km per day.
He was 26 at the time so Neil took some comfort from that!

A fun water polo match, two in fact, between old girls and boys of Scottburgh High and current pupils, took place at the school this week.
Cliff Bamber and his daughter Madison were instrumental in organising the games.
There were 40 players in total, and both the old girls and the old boys managed to use experience to beat the school girls and boys respectively in the matches.

Muslim readers are wished a blessed Ramadan Mubarak.
Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, introspection and prayer for Muslims, the followers of Islam.
It is celebrated as the month during which Muhammad received the initial revelations of the Quran, the holy book for Muslims.
Each day during Ramadan, Muslims do not eat or drink from sunrise to sunset.
