There will be another wonderful relaxing afternoon at Nkomba this Saturday, May 29.
For the adventurous, it’s an opportunity to join the Snare Aware Group that will be conducting a sweep of Nkomba for snares. This is good timing as only recently a marsh mongoose was caught in a snare at Nkomba Fortunately, it was released unharmed.
For those who are happy to hear about the sweep, the Snare Aware Group will give a short talk and what to do if you encounter one. There will be also be delicious chicken on the fire served with salads.
Carlton, a graduate of the Cape Wine Academy will provide some expert advice on some delicious wines on offer. Bring along your picnic gear and enjoy the food, wine, some great music provided by Johnny Hudson, and learn a little about snares and how to eradicate them.
It promises to be a great afternoon, book at the Beach Cafe on 066 3715631. The cost is R85 per person.
Great news from the Pennington Conservancy.
They have deliberated for a long time about opening the Beach Cafe in the evenings and are taking the plunge and opening.
The first step is to open for sundowners on Friday nights and to follow with Saturday nights in the near future.

Scottburgh Athletic Club time trials are held on Wednesdays at 5.15pm from the Scottburgh Golf Club. All welcome – runners and walkers.
A reminder that The Sardine Run will be played over three days at Scottburgh Golf Club, from June 17, 2021.
There is an opening for craft traders and traders who are not selling food or drinks. It is quite a big event as there are 40 teams in the tournament with four players per team (with friends and family visiting).
