DEAR Editor;
As a regular driver on the freeway – twice a day – I have to anticipate the reaction of other motorists for my own safety.
Take for instance, a horse and trailer. Why would the driver overtake another truck on a hill, knowing full well that he will not be able to do so?
At most times he has no option but return to the left-hand lane behind the truck he attempted to overtake.
Now this places me and my little car in jeopardy, not only from the truck because I am now moving at a snail’s pace, but from other vehicles behind me.
It does not leave me with a safe option.
This has happened twice this week and it’s only Thursday.
Is it because they are much bigger, they do as they please?
This attitude is similar to the arrogance displayed by drivers of expensive cars who think they own the fast lane, and no other motorist should use it even though they are overtaking a slow vehicle.
Come on truck drivers, think of the smaller vehicles, they have the same rights on the road as you.
DISGRUNTLED DRIVER
