With the good rain we are experiencing at the moment on the South Coast, it is unsurprising that this is what the South African Weather Service had forecast for this period. In fact, the weather service predicts above average rainfall in this area for the next two months.
Press reports also indicate that the storage dams that feed Scottburgh and its environs, namely the Nungwane, Umzinto, EJ Smith and Mhlabatshane Dams, are 100% full. This is really good news for us.
The figures that follow confirm that the rain that has fallen in Scottburgh this last month is well above the average we have experienced in previous years.
Rainfall for September in Scottburgh is as follows: 1st – 3mm; 5th – 4mm; 6th – 36mm; 7th -17mm; 16th – 37mm; 20th – 1mm; 21st – 2mm; 29th – 26mm and 30th – 9mm, totaling 135mm for September.
Rain is forecast for most of the coming week.
Rainfall recorded during September over the last five years was: 2020 – 96,5mm; 2019 – 66mm; 2018 – 53mm; 2017 – 109,5mm; 2018 – 93,5mm.
