Thank goodness, we all said, when after an absence of 28 days, the Ugu District Municipality was able to direct water back into the pipes. Hallelujah!
Of course, those of us with the luxury of owning a water tank, proceeded to replenish what we had used during the ‘drought’.
One can wonder if one should pay the Water Basic – Urban charge of R165.11, for the full 31 days, if water service was lacking for 28 of those days?
Maybe one is just paying that money for the fact that one has a tap on the property, and whether it delivers water or or not is irrelevant.
