OPINION: Don’t wait for special days to bring change

Change starts with you.

It was great seeing people cleaning up Umzinto for Mandela Day this year, but I wish this could be done on a regular basis and by more locals.

We shouldn’t wait for special days of the year to come together and beautify our town. We must all be willing to do so at any given time.

Remember, change starts with you!

The next time you walk past a chip packet lying on the ground or a cool drink bottle, which are some of the usual things I see thrown on the street, do your bit for the environment and pick it up and throw it in the bin.

I believe that if people see you doing good, they will want to do the same… eventually.

Be a good example and contribute to your community, not just today, but everyday.
