OPINION: Lightbulb moment for our first citizen, Ramaphosa
Perhaps the blinkers and blindfold should have been taken off years back or was it just more convenient to play dumb?
Is it not a wonderful event, when one, after being blinded to the reality of a situation, suddenly has a proverbial light-bulb moment and all becomes clear.
Truly, a most remarkable event and one not to be taken lightly nor ignored.
As an Irish person would say, ‘to be sure’, I believe our leading South African citizen had such an awakening.
Would you believe that the loadshedding with which we fellow South Africans are burdened, because of Eskom being a hobbled donkey, is responsible for the following maladies.
Malady 1 is the fact that the economy is not growing (which means our matric youth with their 30% passmark, cannot find work), which means unemployed youth finding other devious pastimes to keep them busy. Malady 2 is that investment by overseas corporations (despite them being told how wonderfully fertile South Africa is for generating wealth) is not nearly as forthcoming as our trade and industries people would like to see.
The really sad part of this whole situation is that the status quo regarding the Eskom debacle is not new.
Perhaps the blinkers and blindfold should have been taken off years back or was it just more convenient to play dumb?
Perhaps it is a case of there are none so blind as those who will not see?
