Perhaps it is merely from my perspective, but, writing something with a positive note is becoming increasingly more difficult.
Do not give me the glass half full versus half empty scenario, please, because here on the South Coast, with 180mm of rain in two days, our glasses, and our neighbours’ are all overflowing.
Listening to the news this morning did supply me with something positive though.
Did you know that according to Number One, we lost two million jobs because of Covid – how and why that comes up I do not know, as a crutch perhaps? – but now ‘we’ have regained one and a half million jobs – all thanks to our government’s active involvement.
Wow, wonderful indeed!
Where?
As far as I remember our government is forever asking, and in some instances the rhetoric is more of a demanding nature, that private section gets involved in providing jobs.
Clap onto that ‘instruction’ the challenge of loadshedding and BEE regulations – and now I, Aristotle Mokwena, must create jobs?
How about government putting money where their greedy mouths are and show us the way.
What with elections coming up, what better incentive to garner votes than to give me work and therefore food on my table. Viva! Viva! Batho Pele please!
