The reason why South Africa is presently in such a big mess is that we have too many useless, incompetent, corrupt and shady senior public officials and politicians in all three tiers of government.
Based on academic qualifications, primarily, coupled with competence, intelligence and other positive attributes, the following order prevails.
On top, we have professionals like doctors, lawyers, engineers and educators.
Next are technicians and artisans, like electricians, carpenters, mechanics and plumbers, etc.
Then we have people like general assistants and domestic workers.
Lastly, we have many senior public officials and politicians.
Politicians are put in office by the votes of the electorate, coupled by default, ie: by apathy of non-voting.
Many senior public officials and non-elected politicians are ruling party cronies, lackeys and buddies.
How long does it take for people to see the light?
History has shown that people are gluttons for punishment. It took decades for dictators and despots like Robert Mugabe and others to be removed from office.
Those who liberated citizens at first later themselves became oppressors, ruling with iron fists and disdain.
In 2024, South Africa will be holding national elections.
People must arise from their deep slumber, shake off apathy and put on thinking caps.
How much longer do we have to be deceived and deprived of our constitutional rights per Act 108 of 1996 (RSA Constitution)?
Yet, disappointment and disillusionment may have set in.
However, we must arise en masse to claim what is ours and what the law espouses by voting with great wisdom and due discernment so that South Africa will no longer be in a pathetic and sorry state.
Only then will the masses, especially the previously disadvantaged, have a better life and brighter future.
In truth, post apartheid, we have retrogressed.
What use is freedom if we are prisoners in our homes and at the mercy of thugs and useless state personnel?
Make a positive difference at the ballot box in 2024.
In this way, poverty, mjondolos (shacks), inequality, crime, corruption and unemployment will be drastically reduced.
Please citizens, don’t be fooled by smooth talkers, hoods, crooks, and charlatans, whose promises are hollow and empty.
They just want to hoodwink you and only want to line their pockets.
Surely enough is enough. May God bless and save South Africa.
