Freeland Park Ratepayers’ Association aims to set up an informal ‘Urban Improvement Precinct’ for Freeland Park, to manage the suburb effectively and to make it a safer and more attractive place, hence increase property values. Their approach is to ensure that they get the maximum benefit from the rates and taxes they are already paying, and provide a range of additional services as per their agreed plan. Their plan has four main elements – security, garden maintenance, precinct management and capital projects. More information can be found on www.fpra.co.za
