As we all know, this is the end of 2024, and we as a community need to say a big thank you to the wonderful people we worked with during this year.
Firstly, thank you to Miss Somi from the Department of Transport.
I requested some assistance on the R102, and you helped with the repair of potholes and even promised more help in 2025. You did this with empathy and care for lives endangered on this stretch of road.
Then, Ugu District Municipality, what more can we ask for as a community?
The staff at the call centre are kind, helpful and always prepared to assist.
Ugu plumbers (Bheki, Sizo and everyone else), thank you for going the extra mile for our ward.
The times we requested your assistance, not once, but many times this year, you always helped us.
Clr Sizwe Ngcobo always had time to help and assist us with problems in our ward. Sir, you were there for us every time we needed help. I thank you for that.
To speaker Phumlani Gumbi, we need Ray Nkonyeni Municipality (RNM) to get their house in order.
We as a community cannot keep on paying for no service delivery.
The state of our area is going down monthly.
We try our best to report and keep our area clean. But we need RNM to get on board and see that our communities get the service they pay for.
We seriously need you to get over your inside problems, and let’s all start 2025 as a team working for the same goal.
As most of us in Ward 16 know, we are on our own.
It is common knowledge you do not get any help in Ward 16 unless you belong to a certain political party, and that is not a guarantee that you will get help.
Fortunately, we have many strong people living in this area, and we can overcome this.
Thank you all; have a wonderful festive time, and be blessed.
ISABELLE BESTER
