OPINION: Pothole peril in Manaba

Vehicles swerve for the holes by going on the wrong side of the road.

We have written numerous letters and phoned the municipality with no response or feedback.

The traffic lights on the corner of Marine Drive and Collis Road in Manaba haven’t worked for over a year.

We have already had numerous accidents there, as many motorists don’t seem to know how to treat this intersection as a four-way stop.

To make it worse, at this same intersection on Collis Road side, we have huge holes (you can plant bushes in them) in the middle of the road.

So, vehicles swerve for the holes by going on the wrong side of the road, with no consideration for oncoming traffic.

We need to get this in the paper, as the municipality doesn’t seem to care.
