BRONWYN TANNER: Tuning In – Generous donation for Amanzimtoti SPCA

Community news and events for the mid-South Coast area.

A whopping R8 000 was donated to Amanzimtoti SPCA from the annual Selborne Ladies Golf Day.

This event welcomed 124 golfers, drawing participants not only from KZN but also from Gauteng, the UK, and other countries.

The event was a fantastic day filled with great golf, fun, and camaraderie, with the course holding up well despite heavy rains the day before.

The money was raised through a lucky draw supported by all participants. Prizes were kindly donated by Selborne lady members.

“All the ladies gave generously to stand a chance to win, but being able to make a meaningful difference to an organisation in need is what truly matters,” said Leanne Parsons, chairperson of Selborne Golf Club.

The Toti SPCA will use these funds to purchase essential supplies, including food, toys, blankets and cleaning materials for the animals in their care.

Established by the Winters family in the 1980s, the organisation serves a vast area, attending to in excess of 300 animals per month. Stray and abandoned animals remain a significant concern, and community support is vital. To get involved, join the Amanzimtoti SPCA community on Facebook or contact them on 031 904 2424.

Take note: A Ward 10 public report back meeting will be held in the Pennington Library Activity Room this Thursday (27th) at 17:30. Items to be covered are: ward report, Farm Abrams update, Municipal Demarcation Board, draft budget and IDP, road and water pipe petitions, Eskom/Ugu, and questions and answers.
