I refer to your article published on August 9 titled: Pints for Paws hits all the right notes for SPCA.
While we appreciate the coverage afforded to the event and the work of the Lower South Coast SPCA, there is a factual inaccuracy in the article which requires urgent rectification.
The article states that ‘all proceeds go towards helping the SPCA’.
This is unfortunately incorrect. The LSC SPCA only receives: 50% of the gate fees, proceeds from the auction of donated goods; and direct donations made to our bank account.
We do not receive: The remaining 50% of gate fees; any of the stall fees; or profits from food and beverage sales on the day.
This distinction is important to ensure transparency to the public and to avoid any misunderstanding as to how their contributions are allocated.
We kindly request that a correction be published in your next edition, making clear the exact portion of proceeds that the LSC SPCA receives from the Pints for Paws event. This will assist in ensuring accurate public information and in maintaining the trust of our donors and supporters.
