OPINION: Plea for change at Lower South Coast SPCA

The author said there are some serious allegations against a member of the committee which national seems slow to address.

I find it distasteful and a weird form of gratitude for Jaimin Patel of the NSPCA to elect to be critical of the inaccuracy of the reporting on fundraising efforts, rather than show gratitude for the efforts themselves.

Whilst he is quick to address a minor inaccuracy, he is slow to address real issues around the LSC SPCA. There are some serious allegations against a member of his committee which national seems slow to address.

This is an appeal by me to our community to get involved. Go take up membership for R100 per annum, or R500 life membership and if you have the skill and inclination, get elected on the committee and let us take control and run this organisation properly.

This is not something we can ignore and the problems will not solve themselves through apathy.
We need to care for this extremely important organisation. Society is judged by how it treats the weak and the vulnerable. I ask you, what kind of society are we?
