OPINION: Cupcake Angel grateful for support

Michelle Ursula Naidoo is grateful for the National Cupcake Day support from Umzinto, Park Rynie and Scottburgh.

The Bake Box Initiative was launched in September for schools and companies to assist bakers with dry ingredients for National Cupcake Day. I’m so grateful for the support from our community from Umzinto, Park Rynie and Scottburgh.

Thank you to Umzintovale Primary, the first school to set the precedent for The Bake Box Initiative and in collecting six boxes which was the most in our community with more than 50kg of flour, nearly 20kg of the different types of sugar, five dozen eggs, 100s and 1000s, oil, vanilla essence, baking powder, cocoa and more.

Veni Naick and Monica Sunker, your participation on behalf of Umzintovale Primary in this initiative is highly appreciated to achieve such phenomenal results. Thank you to everyone who contributed and to others who followed and made a difference.

Thanks is given to Shape up by Dimple Govender, Umzinto Secondary, Scottburgh Primary, St Francis Primary, Veni Naick, Raakee Sukdeo, Ziyan Sulaman, David Narvi, Nila Muthoo, Kiaran Reddy and Kahil Vallabh.

Nineteen boxes were collected which helped bakers in KZN for National Cupcake Day.

Thank You Lee-Roy Christianson from Coastal Rush Errands for my sponsorship which allowed me to participate in this event and to Liz Book, the co-coordinator of Scottburgh Lions for Scottburgh Mall not only for your support to us bakers and your motivation, but who sweetly named my Cupcakes Mich’s Choco Bliss.

Thanks to Ansie Wood from The Worx for the printouts and stickers and Bill Day for your unconditional support.

Clr Dana Daniels (Ward 15) for your belief in me and Cupcakes of Hope.

And our amazing talented bakers in Scottburgh, I am in awe of the array of delicious decadent and beautifully decorated cupcakes which showed how much love you have for our Lil Warriors.

Sandy Cipriano, my inspiration, your leadership for Cupcakes of Hope makes me strive and bake a difference.

Scottburgh Mall had an amazing vibe on National Cupcake Day with smiles love and togetherness.

Bake it forward was the theme and together we did it.

Cupcake thanks and hugs
MICHELLE URSULA NAIDOO
