Bronwyn Tanner – Tuning In: Save date for Secret Swim in Scottburgh

Community news and events for the mid-South Coast area.

We are rapidly heading toward the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027. Where has the time gone?
This year’s Secret Swim for the ILoveBoobies Charity, which involves thousands of women and one purpose, will take place on October 10.
Women across South Africa will meet at beaches, dams and pools for a morning that’s about so much more than swimming.
Secret Swim is a women-only gathering created to honour those fighting breast cancer, celebrate survivors and supporters, remember the sisters lost, and help more women access life-saving breast cancer screenings. There’s no racing, no pressure. Swim, dip, float or simply get your feet wet. Just show up and be part of something meaningful.
Pre-entry and registration are essential. Your secret location will be sent via email and SMS on October 9 at 21:00.
Your entry is a donation, with 100% of funds raised going towards free breast cancer screenings for women in underserved communities across South Africa.

* The English language is truly a masterpiece. It can put two opposite words together and somehow convince us they make perfect sense.
Here are some great examples: Found missing, open secret, small crowd, act naturally, clearly misunderstood, fully empty, pretty ugly, seriously funny, only choice, original copies, exact estimate, tragic comedy, foolish wisdom, liquid gas and working holiday.
And then there are some modern classics, like social distancing. But the undisputed champion of all English contradictions remains happily married!
