Actor Kwenzo Ngcobo of Izingolweni and Hope Mbhele of Mthwalume have both been nominated in the Rising Star category. Ngcobo, plays Qhawe Zulu in Showmax’s popular telenovela, The Wife.

He gained popularity as Themba on etv’s Imbewu: The seed. Meanwhile, Mbhele is not only a radio presenter on Gagasi FM but she also played the role of Busisiwe ‘Mabusi’ in the drama series Umkhokha.

Kwenzo Ngcobo has been nominated for the 2022 DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards (DMVCA).

The awards (DMVCA), which are a celebration of local talent, will be held at Sun Arena in Pretoria on June 25 and will be broadcast live on Mzansi Magic (Dstv channel 161).

Following a two-year pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic, DMVCA will honour top achievers over the past two years in television, radio, music, sports, and comedy. These top achievers will be voted for by the South African public.

Voting closes on June 11. Competing against Ngcobo and Mbhele for the rising star award are Young Stunna, Uncle Vinny, and Daliwonga.

To vote for these South Coasters, the public can get the MyDStv app on their phone or visit; www.mzansimagic.tv/dstvmvca.

In a recent statement, organisers of the DMVCA said viewers will also stand a chance to win one of three KIA vehicles, saying that all it takes for viewers to win, is casting a vote for a favourite nominee.
