RNM appoints acting municipal manager

The council of RNM held a special meeting on September 1 to consider the appointment.

The head of the department of development planning services at Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, Khethukuthula Joseph Zulu, has been appointed as the acting municipal manager, following the end of Max Mbili’s contract in the position.

According to RNM municipal spokesperson, Simon April, the council of RNM held a special meeting on September 1 to consider the ‘acting appointment’.

April said the council unanimously agreed on appointing Zulu as of September 1, on a month-to-month basis, not exceeding three months.

“Zulu is currently employed by RNM as the head of department of development planning services and the council felt that he has the necessary skills, expertise, competency and qualifications to be considered when appointing the acting municipal manager. The recruitment and selection process to have the post filled has already begun and the council is confident it will be finalised within three months,” said April.
