Musician motivates learners

LaSauce visited schools on the South Coast to motivate learners, especially matriculants.

The Ubuntu Foundation, along with musician Sindisiwe Dlamini, who is well-known as LaSauce, visited several schools last week to motivate learners.

LaSauce, originally from Umgababa, is an R&B artist and is popular for her hit song ‘I Do’.

LaSauce, together with Sthembiso Simelane and Cebo Simelana, are the founders of the foundation.

Last week, they decided to visit the South Coast and go around to schools to motivate learners, especially matriculants.

Simelane said that the reason they started the foundation was because they thought that they were not reaching out enough to the youth.

Sindisiwe Dlamini, well-known as LaSauce, motivating learners at Makhanda High.

“When we were growing up, we had programmes such as Soul City, which motivated us.”

He said that’s when they decided to do something.

Simelane said the foundation is currently on a tour to schools, where they motivate and uplift learners.

“We are giving them an idea of what life is going to be like when they are out of school and independent.”

LaSauce said that as a musician, she loves to give back to the community and that it’s important to her to provide motivation.

“I love people, I’m a people person, I’m an entertainer, so I want to give back to the people. It’s already been a pleasure being here and getting sponsors to help us with the drive.”

LaSauce said that this is just the beginning of what they want to do.

Some of the schools they visited are Olwandle High in Gamalakhe, Ingwemabala High and Makhanda High in Betania.
