Two women murdered

The incidents occurred in Gcilima and Murchison.

Police are investigating two separate cases of murder after the bodies of two women were recently found, one in Murchison and the other in Gcilima.

In the Murchison case, police are seeking the assistance of the public to find the perpetrator after Amanda Mbhele (31) was fatally stabbed outside a neighbour’s house in the early hours of December 30.

Amanda Mbhele was stabbed to death in Murchison.

In the second case, the decomposing body of Leleza Nxumalo (64) from Gcilima was found on January 9.

It is believed that she was murdered and dumped not far from her home.

Police initially opened an inquest; however, further investigation revealed foul play and a case of murder was opened.

“A 33-year-old suspect was arrested and appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder.”
