South Coast Fever

Port Shepstone collective drops genre-bending mixtape

The mixtape is now streaming on all major platforms.

Fresh and fearless is the sound that is emerging from the South Coast, with six rising talents from Port Shepstone coming together to release their debut collaborative mixtape, 039 MXT – Esayidi Vol 1.

The project is a high-energy, genre-blending showcase of the 039 area’s untapped talent, featuring six original tracks that fuse hip hop, R&B, trap, soul and amapiano influences.

The collective includes Nate, Meez, Masiano, Blanco, Levi and King Bruce – five vocalists and one DJ/producer – each bringing their unique sound, style and story to the table.

“This tape is about putting our town and our stories on the map. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s just the beginning,” says King Bruce, the DJ and lyricist.

039 MXT – Esayidi Vol 1 is more than a collaboration, it’s a cultural statement rooted in the everyday hustle and youthful ambition of the South Coast.

From Umzumbe to Mzimkhulu, the mixtape captures the energy of a new generation carving space in the local and continental music scene.

With tight verses, infectious hooks and polished production, the project speaks to both street-level authenticity and mainstream potential.

Standout tracks like We Ma, Thuma Mina and Mission already have local fans buzzing.
