Loyal clerks at Port Shepstone Saps bid farewell
Manormanie Naicker and Abegail Cele retired at the end of November after more than 60 years of combined service.
The Ugu district, but more especially Saps Port Shepstone, has been blessed and privileged to enjoy the friendship and dedicated service of two chief administration clerks at the finance office who retired at the end of November.
Manormanie (Rathie) Naicker and Abegail Nompumelelo (Pinky) Cele joined the organisation in 1994 and 1993 respectively and have more than 60 years of service between them. They have seen the organisation evolve over the years and members come into their lives and move on or away.

Naicker served at Saps Port Shepstone throughout her career in several departments before joining finance, and enjoyed every minute in which she was able to serve the needs of the members.
Cele worked at Ulundi and Msinsini before finding her calling at Port Shepstone.
Their station commander Brigadier Nonhlanhla Dhlamuka stated that these two remarkable women belong to a rare generation of hard and loyal workers.
They were the first people you saw in the morning and the last to leave the office at the end of the day.
They were celebrated at a light-hearted and well organised farewell party on November 19.
“On behalf of Saps Port Shepstone members and all other stations they served in the district, she wished them contentment, good health and every good thing retirement has to offer.”
