Margate music event empowers women
According to Faith Disane, the event was organised to showcase the love of music and art while celebrating community development.
Local media production company, Heavens Portal and its director, who is also a musician and author, Faith Disane, hosted a successful music event, ‘Faith Disane with the Live Band and Friends’ at Zuri Beach in Margate recently, which was described as an amazing empowerment of women through music and arts.
Disane said the vibrant music event was organised to showcase the love of music and art while celebrating community development and the power of collaborative art for community empowerment.
“Our event attracted music lovers, friends and community members. My music was warmly welcomed and they danced and sang along with me.”
The event drew a lively crowd of locals, media partners and community stakeholders.
The evening kicked off with a dynamic podcast segment by In.Tym, which set the tone for a night of inspiration. Media houses captured the energy, while the South Coast Pioneers band delivered a soulful opening that had the beach buzzing with joy,” said Disane.
Also, Disane premiered performances of new tracks slated for digital release, each a collaboration with music legends, Themba Ncama and Sphiwe Shane.
“The performances were a highlight, featuring Sammi Addis with electrifying vocals that sparked a sing-along; Ixhiba Labalobi with poetry that reminded us of the beauty of art; Mthandi Lovemore with heartfelt melodies that resonated with the audience; and DGG with a high energy finish that had everyone on their feet.”
According to Disane, beyond the music, the event celebrated community development with stakeholders from local NGOs and educational programmes, sharing knowledge and resources, while reinforcing the night’s mission to empower women through art.
“I was also recently honoured with my first Artes Award by Big M Production based in Durban at Sibaya Casino. I am deeply grateful to every person who has supported me, especially the residents of the South Coast.” she said.
