Spiritual leader to visit Port Shepstone
Dharmacharya Chunelall Narine is the founder and spiritual head of the Shri Trimurti Bhavan in New York and the Shri Hanuman Mandir in Florida.
Dharmacharya Chunelall Narine who hails from Queens, New York will be visiting the Shree Raam Narayan Temple in Marburg on Saturday, January 24.
Narine is a prominent Hindu spiritual leader, particularly within the Guyanese-Indian community in New York, known for officiating at religious events, leading satsanghs and a respected figure for his spiritual knowledge.
He is often referred to as an esteemed Dharmacharya, or spiritual teacher, leading events such as Ramayana in the Park and serving as a central figure in local Hindu religious activities.
“He has travelled to South Africa for the past 17 years. In this period, he has attracted many ardent followers through his melodious bhajans and simple, yet meaningful messages from the Hindu scriptures, the Ramayana and Srimad Bhagavad Gita,” said Shree Raam Narayan Temple’s chairperson, Rocky Ramsingh.
Narine received the Ambassador of the World Peace Award from the United Nations in 2008.
He is the founder and spiritual head of both the Shri Trimurti Bhavan in New York and the Shri Hanuman Mandir in Florida. Also, he had the opportunity to sing with the late Mahendra Kapoor and Hari Om Sharan. He has also recorded bhajans with renowned singers such as Alka Yagnik and Kavita Khrishnamurty.
