Join free spiritual and mindfulness initiative at Port Shepstone temple
Co-ordinator Veena Lakhan encourages the community to get involved.
The Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir recently hosted the launch of the School of Immortals, a free spiritual and wellness programme open to children, youth and adults.
The programme forms part of a global spiritual initiative by Acharya Ishan Shivanand and Shiv Yog, which shares ancient Vedic wisdom through meditation, breathwork, chanting and storytelling. The aim is to help build inner strength, focus, calmness and compassion in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Local attorney and programme co-ordinator Jayshree Juglal said the initiative is rooted in Sanathan Dharma principles and is designed to nurture values such as kindness, gratitude, respect and sharing, while helping participants connect with their inner light and positivity.
The opening session, which combined spirituality and gentle yoga in a one-hour programme, was well attended and warmly received. Attendees described the experience as uplifting and calming, with many expressing interest in returning for future sessions.
Co-ordinator Veena Lakhan encouraged the community to get involved.
“The School of Immortals is about creating balance in our lives – mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is suitable for all ages, and the practices are simple, joyful and deeply meaningful. We invite families, youth and elders to come and experience it for themselves.”
The organisers extended thanks to everyone who contributed to the successful launch, including Ethan Naicker for his inspirational speech.
The School of Immortals programme runs every Sunday, from 08:30 to 09:30 at the Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir. Entry is free and all are welcome.
